After Rangers, Ferguson joined Blackburn Rovers in 1973 and scored 12 goals in 34 games in the 1973–74 season. However, the following season he only scored once in 14 games, and Blackburn were relegated to the Second Division. Ferguson left Blackburn in 1975 and joined Falkirk.
