The Gulf of Khambhat, alternatively known as the Gulf of Cambay, lies to the west of Bhavnagar in the state of Gujarat, India. It is a large inlet of the Arabian Sea and extends inland for approximately 70 kilometres. Geographically, this gulf separates the peninsulas of Saurashtra and Kathiawar. The Gulf of Khambhat has long held historical significance for international trade.
