In the 2000 U.S. presidential election, Bill Bradley sought the Democratic Party's nomination. He competed against the incumbent Vice President Al Gore in the Democratic primaries but unfortunately he did not secure the nomination and ultimately the race led to a narrow victory for the Republican candidate George W. Bush in the general election.
