Harrison is the full middle name of Bill Frist, an American politician and heart and lung transplant surgeon who served as the Senate majority leader from 2003 to 2007. Frist is a graduate of Princeton University and Harvard Medical School, and he completed his surgical training at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He is the son of Thomas F. Frist Sr., who co-founded the Hospital Corporation of America (HCA).
