Bill Shorten led Labor to two elections. He was elected Leader of the Opposition in 2013 and led the party to the 2016 and 2019 federal elections. In both elections, Labor was defeated by the Liberal-National Coalition led by Malcolm Turnbull and Scott Morrison, respectively.
