Answer
Batman was created by Bob Kane during his early life in New York City. He was inspired by a number of sources, including the silent film star Douglas Fairbanks, the pulp hero Zorro, and the real-life vigilante the Shadow. Kane also drew on his own personal experiences and anxieties, such as his fear of bats and his desire to create a hero who would be a powerful force for good.
