Bill Shankly was the predecessor of Bob Paisley at Liverpool Football Club. Shankly managed Liverpool from 1959 to 1974, and Paisley took over as manager in 1974. Shankly is considered to be one of the greatest managers in Liverpool's history, and he led the club to their first league title in 1964.
