Bob Paisley, the legendary Liverpool manager, was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in 1996. He died in 1997 at the age of 74. Alzheimer's disease is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder that affects memory, thinking and behavior. It is the sixth leading cause of death in the United States.
