Bonar Law left school at the age of 16. He was born in Canada in 1858 and moved to Scotland with his family when he was 12. He attended the High School of Glasgow for four years before leaving to work in the iron trade. He later became a successful businessman and politician, serving as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1922 to 1923.
