Aleksandar Tsankov was the Prime Minister when Boris III recognized the new government after the overthrow of Stamboliyski. Tsankov was a right-wing nationalist who had previously served as Prime Minister in 1923. He was appointed to the position again in 1934 by Boris III, who had overthrown Stamboliyski's government in a military coup.
