Answer
A perpetual fire is a fire that is never extinguished. It was sparked off in Saint Brigid's honour at Kildare, a town in County Kildare, Ireland. The fire is said to have been started by Brigid herself in the fifth century. It is still burning today, making it one of the oldest continuously burning fires in the world.
