Bruce Alan Beutler was born on December 29, 1957 in St. Louis, Missouri. He is an American medical researcher who won the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 2011, together with Jules Hoffmann and Ralph Steinman, for his work on the innate immune system.
