Answer
American Bantam Car Company developed the original WWII Jeep. In 1940, the U.S. Army issued a request for a lightweight, four-wheel-drive vehicle. Bantam submitted a prototype, which was later refined by Ford and Willys-Overland. The resulting vehicle, known as the Jeep, became an iconic symbol of the war and remains in use today.
