C. Rajagopalachari (1878-1972) was an Indian statesman and writer who was a leading figure in the Indian independence movement. He was a member of the Indian National Congress and served as the first Indian Governor-General of independent India from 1948 to 1950. Rajagopalachari was also a prolific writer and author of several books on Indian history and politics.
