The Western Interprovincial Football Union (WIFU) was a football league that existed from 1936 to 1958. It was a precursor to the Canadian Football League (CFL). The WIFU was formed by the merger of the Western Canada Football Conference and the Regina Rugby Football Union. The league consisted of five teams: the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, the Saskatchewan Roughriders, the Calgary Stampeders, the Edmonton Eskimos, and the British Columbia Lions.
