Carl Bildt's term as a member of the Riksdag, Sweden's parliament, ended in 2001. He had served in the Riksdag since 1979, representing the Moderate Party. During his time in parliament, Bildt held several leadership positions, including Minister of Foreign Affairs and Prime Minister of Sweden.
