Murdered in the early morning of September 30, 1888, in the City of London, Catherine Eddowes became the third of Jack the Ripper's five canonical victims. She was attacked as she walked alone, her throat was cut and her abdomen was heavily mutilated, with some organs having been removed. The murderer escaped without being seen despite Eddowes' screams.
