Answer
The Five, also known as the Mighty Handful, was a group of Russian composers active in the 1860s and 1870s. The group consisted of Mily Balakirev, César Cui, Alexander Borodin, Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, and Modest Mussorgsky. They were united by their shared belief in the importance of Russian folk music and their rejection of Western European musical conventions.
