Charles Haughey was Leader of the Opposition in Ireland from 1981 to 1982 and again from 1982 to 1987. He was a member of Fianna Fáil, and had previously served as Taoiseach from 1979 to 1981. During his time as Leader of the Opposition, Haughey led Fianna Fáil in opposition to the Fine Gael-Labour Party coalition government.
