King Frederick VII succeeded Christian VIII as King of Denmark. He was the only child of Christian VIII and Caroline Amalie. He ascended the throne on 20 January 1848. He was known for his liberal views and his support of the constitution. He was also known for his love of women. He had many mistresses and fathered many children. He died on 15 November 1863.
