Christopher Cox (born June 22, 1950) is an American lawyer and former politician who served as Chairman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) from 2005 to 2009. A member of the Republican Party, Cox was the U.S. House of Representatives' Republican Conference Chairman from 2003 to 2005. He was also a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from 1983 to 2005.
