Chulalongkorn, who was also known as Rama V, was the fifth king of Siam. He became king at the age of 16, after his father died unexpectedly. Chulalongkorn was a progressive king who oversaw many reforms in Siam, including the abolition of slavery, the establishment of a modern education system, and the introduction of a constitution. He is considered one of the most important kings in Thai history.
