Answer
Giorgio Vasari (1511-1574) was an Italian painter, architect and writer, best known for his Lives of the Most Excellent Painters, Sculptors and Architects, a seminal work of art history. Vasari's account of Giotto's life suggests that he was Cimabue's student, although this is disputed by some scholars.
