General Auchinleck supported General William Slim through supplies, maintenance, and training. Auchinleck was the commander of the British forces in the Middle East and Slim was his deputy. Slim was a brilliant commander who led the 14th Army to victory in the Burma campaign. He was later promoted to field marshal and served as the commander-in-chief of the British Army in India.
