Answer
Clovis I, the founder of the Merovingian dynasty, conquered the Visigoths in the Battle of Vouillé in 507, significantly expanding his kingdom and establishing his dominance over much of Gaul. He then turned his attention to the Alemanni, a Germanic tribe settled in present-day Alsace and southwestern Germany. In 496, he decisively defeated them in the Battle of Tolbiac, securing his power and control over the region.
