Harriet Tubman was an American abolitionist and political activist. She escaped slavery in Maryland in 1849 and became a leading figure in the Underground Railroad. She led more than 300 slaves to freedom and was known as "Moses". She was also a Union spy during the American Civil War. In 2019, Cynthia Erivo portrayed Harriet Tubman in the biopic Harriet.
