Cyrus Vance Jr. (November 27, 1917 – January 12, 2002) was an American lawyer and government official. Vance served as United States Secretary of State under President Jimmy Carter from 1977 to 1980. He was also Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs under President Lyndon B. Johnson from 1961 to 1964.
