Badreddin al-Houthi (born 1979) is a Yemeni politician and leader of the Houthi movement. Born in Dahyan, he joined the Houthi movement in the 1990s and became a key leader in the 2011 Houthi uprising. After the uprising, al-Houthi was appointed Prime Minister of Yemen by President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi. However, he resigned from the post in 2014 after Houthi forces seized control of the capital, Sana'a.
