Danai Gurira is a Zimbabwean-American actress, writer, and producer. She was born in Grinnell, Iowa, to Zimbabwean parents, who immigrated to the United States when she was a child. She grew up in Iowa and Zimbabwe, and attended the Juilliard School in New York City. She is best known for her role as Michonne in the AMC series The Walking Dead.
