Daniel Andrews became the leader of the Victorian branch of the Australian Labor Party in 2010. He had previously been the state's deputy premier and treasurer. He was elected as leader of the party after the resignation of former premier John Brumby. Andrews was re-elected as leader in 2014 and 2018. He led the Labor Party to victory in the 2014 state election and again in 2018.
