Daniel Hannan decided to stand down from the European Parliament when the UK left the EU in 2020. Hannan had been a member of the European Parliament since 1999, and had been a vocal critic of the EU. He argued that the UK would be better off outside of the EU, and that the UK could prosper as an independent country.
