The Brooks Wallace Award is presented annually to the best collegiate shortstop. It is named after former Texas Tech shortstop Brooks Wallace, who played for the Red Raiders from 1977 to 1980. Wallace was a two-time All-American and helped lead Texas Tech to the College World Series in 1979. He went on to play for the San Francisco Giants and the California Angels.
