Fanny Cornforth and Jane Morris were both known to be Dante Gabriel Rossetti's models and muses. Cornforth was a young woman whom Rossetti met in the 1850s and who posed for many of his paintings. Morris was the wife of the poet William Morris and also posed for Rossetti. Both women were important to Rossetti's artistic development and their images appear in many of his works.
