Scottish cyclist David Millar was born in Malta to a Scottish father and a Maltese mother. He began his professional cycling career in 1997 and retired in 2014. Millar is best known for winning the bronze medal in the individual time trial at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens. He also won the prologue of the 2003 Tour de France and the overall title of the 2006 Tour of Britain.
