David Ruffin was born in 1941. He was an American singer and songwriter, best known as the lead singer of the Temptations from 1964 to 1968. Ruffin was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1989 and the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2003. He is considered one of the greatest soul singers of all time.
