Rebellin was born on August 9, 1971, in the province of Vicenza, Italy. He began cycling at the age of 14 and turned professional in 1992. A talented climber, Rebellin won several prestigious one-day races, including the Amstel Gold Race, the Flèche Wallonne, and Liège–Bastogne–Liège. He also achieved success in Grand Tours, winning stages in the Giro d'Italia, the Tour de France, and the Vuelta a España.
