In 2010, Arkansas quarterback Ryan Mallett became the only player in NCAA history to both pass and rush for 1,500 yards in a single season. Mallett passed for 3,801 yards and rushed for 1,574 yards, leading the Razorbacks to a 10-3 record and a berth in the Cotton Bowl Classic. Mallett was named the SEC Offensive Player of the Year and a consensus All-American.
