James E. Norris founded the Detroit Red Wings in 1926. He was a prominent businessman and also owned the Chicago Stadium, where the Chicago Blackhawks played. Norris was instrumental in the growth of the NHL and was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1962.
