The Mythopoeic Award is a literary award given annually to works of fantasy, science fiction, or horror that explore religious or mythological themes. The award was established in 1971 by Lloyd Alexander and Charles W. Sullivan, and is named for the Greek word for "myth". The Mythopoeic Award has been won twice by Jones, for her novels The Seventh Child (1984) and A Sudden Solitude (1988).
