Dick Dale passed away in 2019. He was an American guitarist, songwriter, and singer known as "The King of the Surf Guitar." Dale's innovative use of reverb and tremolo techniques helped define the surf rock genre in the early 1960s. He was also a pioneer in using the Fender Stratocaster guitar and the Fender Twin Reverb amplifier.
