Dietrich Bonhoeffer was a German Lutheran pastor, theologian, anti-Nazi dissident, and key member of the German resistance to the Nazi regime. He was executed by the Nazis in April 1945, at the age of 39. Bonhoeffer was married to Maria von Wedemeyer in 1943, but the couple had no children.
