Dietrich Eckart was born on March 23, 1868. He was a prominent German nationalist, antisemite, and playwright who is best known as the mentor of Adolf Hitler. Eckart introduced Hitler to the world of politics and antisemitism and helped shape his early political views. Eckart died in 1923, just a few months before Hitler's failed Beer Hall Putsch.
