Barthélemy Boganda was the first Prime Minister of the Central African Republic. He was born in a village in what is now the Central African Republic in 1912. He became a Catholic priest and then a politician. He was elected to the French National Assembly in 1946. In 1958, he became the first Prime Minister of the Central African Republic. He died in a plane crash in 1959.
