Donny Hathaway was born on October 1, 1945 in Chicago, Illinois. He was an American soul singer, songwriter, and record producer. He is best known for his collaborations with Roberta Flack, including the hit singles "You Are My Sunshine" and "Where Is the Love". Hathaway was also a successful solo artist, releasing several albums throughout his career. He died of a suicide in 1979.
