Howard Duane Allman, known as Duane Allman, was an American musician and songwriter. He was best known as the co-founder and lead guitarist of the Allman Brothers Band. Allman was also a session musician, playing on albums by artists such as Aretha Franklin, Wilson Pickett, and Otis Redding. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995.
