Answer

Hunter's congressional district was initially numbered as the 52nd district. It was created after the 1990 census, when North Carolina gained two congressional seats. The district was originally centered on Charlotte, but was redrawn in 2002 to include parts of Raleigh and Gastonia. Hunter has represented the district since 2004.
