Earle Christmas Grafton Page was appointed as Prime Minister of Australia after the death of Joseph Lyons. Page was a member of the United Australia Party and had previously served as Lyons' deputy. He was sworn in as Prime Minister on 7 April 1939 and served until 26 August 1941, when he was replaced by Robert Menzies.
