Edgar Adrian was born in London, England. He was an English physiologist who shared the 1932 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine with Charles Scott Sherrington for their work on the function of neurons. Adrian and Sherrington conducted pioneering work on the reflex arc, which is the pathway that sensory information travels along to the brain. They also showed that neurons communicate with each other by sending electrical signals.
