Ehud Barak was the tenth Prime Minister of Israel, serving from 1999 to 2001. Barak was a member of the Labor Party and had previously served as Chief of Staff of the Israel Defense Forces. During his time as Prime Minister, Barak signed the Oslo Accords with the Palestinian Authority, which led to the creation of the Palestinian National Authority. Barak also oversaw the withdrawal of Israeli troops from Lebanon.
