Elena of Montenegro was born in 1873 to King Nicholas I of Montenegro and his wife, Milena of Montenegro. She was the eldest of their seven children. Elena married Grand Duke George Alexandrovich of Russia in 1891. The couple had two children, Xenia and Irina. Elena died in 1952 at the age of 79.
